I call her... Queen Antoinette

I found her on the classified furniture ads and I couldn't resist but go pick this gorgeous dresser up.  The condition of this dresser was great structurally, but the paint on this piece of furniture was horrible to say the least.
*This is her after I spent 1.5 hours sanding through her 5, yes 5! layers of paint.
*If you look really close in the below picture you will see that I sanded down to a hand painted flower on one of the drawers.  IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL!  I wish I could have kept it, but it was too far gone to salvage, but this is why I love doing these things is because you can see all of these layers of history within the dresser!

I decided to paint this piece with Drizzle by Sherwin Williams paint in an eggshell finish and a custom warm silver paint by Ralph Lauren.  When doing furniture that have all of these accents, I find it best to hand paint with a small brush all of the accents first and then paint the main color around the accents, you will get a much crisper line if you do this rather than the other way around.   As you will learn from my future posts, I LOVE this color and I call it Tiffany Blue.  There is something about this color that goes great in every house and it is warm and so inviting.
